Frankfurt tourist map
Three maps on this page help you plan sightseeing in Frankfurt: a city map listing sights with the nearest U-Bahn, tram and bus stops, a detailed map of attractions between the Alte Oper and Sachsenhausen, and a plan of Frankfurt Zoo.
Most of Frankfurt's sights are within walking distance of each other. The Römerberg, with the town hall and the reconstructed half-timbered houses, the cathedral where emperors were crowned, and the Paulskirche, seat of Germany's first elected parliament in 1848, form the historic heart. The New Old Town between the cathedral and the Römer was rebuilt on its medieval street plan and opened in 2018.
Across the river, the Museumsufer (Museum Embankment) brings together more than a dozen museums, including the Städel art museum. For a view over the skyline, the Main Tower has a public viewing platform about 200 m above the street.

A 200 m scale bar shows that most of these sights can be reached on foot within a few minutes of each other.

The main entrance is on Alfred-Brehm-Platz, next to the Zoo U-Bahn station, and there is a second exit on Rhönstraße. Highlights include the Borgori Forest for great apes, the Grzimek House for nocturnal animals, the Exotarium and the Cat Jungle. The map also reminds visitors that feeding the animals and using selfie sticks are not allowed. Founded in 1858, the zoo is the second oldest in Germany.
